The new season ahead

02/09/2008

We have started off the new season well with seven winners already on the board. It is always good to get a few on the board through the summer months as it gives the yard a boost into the main season. Ask the Gatherer was our first winner of the new season at Towcester, following up on his course success a few weeks earlier. A welcome return to the yard bought back from the sales in April was Tayman. He had his first run for his new owners at Worcester at the end of May and won by a distance,   read more »

The season over, time to look forward to the next one!

10/06/2008

The season ended well with our horses holding their form right through until the end of April. It is always good when the horses are still performing well in spring because it is a long season, the majority of horses having been in since July. Most of them are now out at grass on a well earned rest for a couple of months. We still have about 20 in for summer jumping including a couple of flat horses. We are looking forward to next season, having had a good April and May- Tizzy Blue, Ask the Gatherer, Steig, Celtic Heather,   read more »

Building up to Cheltenham

20/02/2008

After the New Year everyone is starting to anticipate Cheltenham, which is what we all look forward to every season. One of our youngsters made his racecourse debut at Huntington on 11th Jan. The Old Pretender was ridden by Paul Moloney and won very impressively. Following his success he was put right in the Champion bumper picture for Cheltenham, however he disappointed at Newbury for no apparent reason on the 9th Feb so plans for him remain open at this stage. We had our first treble on Sat 12th Jan, Letalus continued his great form since going over fences by   read more »

Looking forward to the New Year

11/01/2008

It is good to see the horses remaining consistant throughout December, we have had well over half our runners making the frame which is pleasing. Letalus followed up his promising start over fences at Warwick with another 2nd at the same venue. He went on to win very well at Wincanton on Boxing day. Paul Moloney had him near the pace and he jumped superbly as he always does and quickened away after the final fence. Jump Jet and Rocky River went to Uttoxeter on the 21st having travelled to Huntington a week before for racing to be abandoned when   read more »

Really getting going now

13/12/2007

With the season really picking up and the rain arriving we have had a busier month. We had a good start to the month at Towcester with Ammuniton making his debut over fences in a handicap chase. Ridden by Timmy Murphy he jumped and travelled really well throughout and battled on up the hill to win nicely. Voice of reason was our next winner in his first run in a bumper at Folkstone. Carl rode and he was slightly green to start with but once the penny dropped he went away to win very encouragingly. One of our very talented   read more »

October Review

30/10/2007

We have had a few runners following Hennessy's good start. Self Defense ran in a beginners chase at Kempton, Robert Thornton rode him and he ran a good race to finish 3rd. It was a very encouraging effort as it was his first time over fences. Free World represented us in the bumper at the Cheltenham opening meeting. Carl rode him and he ran a very good race to finish 4th. He has matured so much this year we were very pleased he ran such a nice race. He will go hurdling now but he is a lovely 3 mile   read more »

A good start

16/10/2007

The open day was a great success with over 150 guests. The parade of horses went smoothly followed by food and drink which went down a treat. Some of the more adventerous ones had a go at sumo wrestling, while others showed their skills on the dance floor! Hennessy made a fantastic start to his campaign at Lingfield in a Novice hurdle. Ridden by Paul Moloney he made all and won comfortably by 5 lengths. He has come out of the race well and will run again next month.   read more »
